We've spent the past month working behind the scenes on making Ping.fm easier to use. We have lots of updates to the front-end and the back-end that should make your experience even better.
So, let's get started:
We now have support for blogging platforms with existing sites. You can now post full blogs, including titles from Ping.fm to MySpace, Bebo, Blogger, LiveJournal, Tumblr and hi5.
If you are posting a blog, you will either need to prefix the "@b" trigger or the custom trigger you have for the blogging method. Also, be sure to include the ^ character to separate the blog's title from the blog's body.
Example: @b This is my blog's title^This is my blog's body.
You're probably saying to yourself "Methods? What freaking methods?!" and we have an answer for you:
We've revamped the trigger system to provide more flexibility when delivering your messages. You can now determine where your messages will be delivered based on the type of message you are submitting.
We've grouped the types of message posting into 3 methods: Status updates, Blogs and Micro-blogs. Each service has the ability to post your messages to one or more methods we support.
For instance, with MySpace, you can post a status update or a blog. We're assuming you don't want to post blogs to your status messages, so we made them separate. The same goes for the rest of the services. You have the option to enable and disable certain methods per service. Just click on the service name you wish to edit and check the methods you want that service to support.
This is the first push of a ton of new features we are going to be putting out here very soon. By next week, you will be covered in so many new features; you won't know what to do with yourself.
